Happy Easter

This is my card for todays WT #151 Challenge -
which is about "staples".....

I love staples!!! I have a good color collection
on them.....

For this card I used Wild Wasabi as a base. I also added Whisper White and Chocolate Chip CS.

What do you think about this little "Chick"???
I thought it was stinkin' cute!!!

It was stamped with the black Stazon On Ink. Then I watercolored the "Chick" with Yoyo Yellow and Creamy Caramel Watercolor Crayons.

There is not much to the card...I did a little piercing around the card and added the new "Striped Grosgrain Ribbon" and of course some yellow staples......TFL!!!

Together

Here is my card for todays Sketch Challenge #161 on SCS.

The base is Tempting Turquoise. I also used Pink Passion and Whisper White CS which both of them were distressed.

The sentiment is from the "Word on Word" Hostess Set and it was stamped in Tempting Turquoise.

I pierces above and below the sentiment. Plus I pierced the Pink Passion CS.

The flowers are of course from "Prisma". On the flower I also used a Jumbo Pewter Brad and the Rhinestone Brads are from the Stampin Up "Fire" and "Ice" Collection.

I almost forgot to tell you about my weigh in....This morning I was 163/164 pounds!!!

I'm so proud of myself for losing 7 pounds (almost 8) !!!

Remember at 10 pounds I'll be giving BLOGCANDY away...keep stopping by on Tuesdays!!!

Friendship

Todays Color Challenge # 151 is using Yoyo Yellow,
Basic Grey and Going Gray.

If you have not tried this color combo - you should...I think it's stunning!!!

Here is my card for the challenge. The base is Basic Grey and the card measures 5" x 5". I embossed the Yoyo CS with the Cuttlebug and then layered it with Basic Grey and YY CS again.

The sentiment is from the "Friendship Flowers" Set and it was inked in Basic Grey as well. All layered CS was distressed and as you can tell I pierced the base and the middle BG CS. Plus the sentiment was raised with Dimensionals.

I punched the flowers with the new "Boho Blossom" Punch and added the yellow "Fire" Rhinestone. The larger flower was attached with a Pop Up Glue Dot and the small one with a Mini Glue Dot.

Hope you'll have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!!

Live each day with Laughter

My little Miriam is still sick....and since she was taking a long nap I had some time to participate in the IC112 Challenge.

The base is a 5" x 5" transparency card. I pierced the card first at about 1/4" (lining the Mat Pack on the outside). Then I placed a Whisper White CS that is about 4 7/8" x 4 7/8" on the inside and attached the CS with Copper Brads in the corners where I had pierced. The WW CS was layered on a Real Red CS and then stamped with a Stamp Set called "Fanciful Filaments" that I had bought many years ago from "Hero Arts"

Believe it or not ....this is the first time I have been using this set, I guess I had to wait for the perfect challenge to come along!!!

Anyway, the flowers and stems where colored with Handsome Hunter, Certainly Celery, Real Red, Regal Rose and Rose Red Markers. I added some Dazzling Diamond Glitter through out.

The Ribbon is from Michaels and I attached it to a Copper Hodgepodge Hardware.

For a closer look - please click on the card.......TFL!!!

Just Because

This is a card I made for a Shoebox Swap we had yesterday.

For this card I used the "Simple Delight" Set from the Simply Sent Card Kit. All the supplies are already in the Kit....

I first started stamping the Soft Sky Base Card and the center piece with Soft Sky Ink. Then I distressed and layered all the other CS. Before I placed the center image on the River Rock CS I added a brad and raised the back with Stampin Dimensionals.

Before I layered the larger RR and SS CS I had pierced in between the two of them....The sentiment was stamped at the end with Chocolate Chip Ink....

Enjoy the your weekend.....TFL!!!

Always in my Heart

This is my card for Sharon' s challenge # 19.
I also combined her challenge from yesterday and today together.....

The base card is Whisper White and I rounded the corner on the outside , then I cut about 1" from the front and created scallopes with the Corner Rounder.

After that I placed the Real Red DSP from the new Hostess Print Pack on the front. I cut out a circle with the Coluzzle Set and stamped the swirls from the "Love & Joy" Set in the background with RR Ink.

I also stamped the heart from the "Priceless" Set and the sentiment from the "Always" Set with RR Ink and I had to let it dry for a couple of minutes - that gave me time to emboss my heart with the Metal Sheet from Making Memories (available at Michaels) .

I punched a hole with the Cop-A-Dile and place a small silver eyelet on the right hand side.
The Ribbon is also from Michaels. On the back of each image I placed Stampin Dimensionals....

Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!!!

Cuttlebug Challenge

Sharon aka notimetostamp had a quick challenge today about using your Cuttlebug....

I'm not a 100% sure if I did it right, but I guess it's to late now anyway..I made my card.

It's the same card on both sides...- I just could not decide which BG would display the embossed image better???

So you get to pick...The card is 5"x 5" and I based it on a WW CS. The 2nd layer is Basic Black and the embossed images are again on WW. I also placed a black ribbon on top and in the middle.
The middle image was raised with Dimensionals and that's it.

I was also trying to give the embossed images some color, but I failed....if you have any suggestions to do so, please let me know....TFL!!!

Morning Glory

Today I made a card for the WT 150 Challenge and the requirement is to use Paint....

I had to search for my kids painting supply...
and I found the glitter paint we have bought at christmas time for some projects. They don't know that yet - but they made my day!!!

I cut the transperancy sheet to make a 5" x 5" card.
I stamped the rougher side with the "Sanded" BG and painted some red glitter on top...it's kinda thick, so I dried it with the heating tool.

While I had the heating tool out I stamped the flower image from the "Morning Soft" set on Natural White CS with the Craft Chocolate Chip Ink and embossed it with the Clear EBP. I watercolored the inside of the flowers with Real Red and the leaves with Mellow Moss. Plus for some more punch I added the red glitter paint - it looks really cool!!!

As you can tell I added some brown Mullberry Paper, Twill Tape and Aged Copper Hardware....This was a very fun project - TFL!!!

Remembering You

This is my card for the Color Challenge #150 on SCS. The requirements are to use Real Red, Brocade Blue and Soft Sky.

I wouldn't have put these colors together, but after seeing some cards on SCS I really had to try it for myself .....and let me tell you - I do like them!!!

I was not sure what I wanted to make I just knew that I wanted *red* as the main color. I pulled out some older sets, but really couldn't find anything I liked...until I ran into my Simple Sent Card Kit
"Remembering You".

My problem was solved - the Kit comes with
Watercolor Paper and a Brocade crayon....I did have the Bright Colors Crayons. This was a quick card to make!!!

The base card is Soft Sky, the brads are medium silver brads from Making Memories and where lined up with the Mat Pack. The image was stamped with
Real Red also watercolored with RR and Brocade Blue. Then I layered the image on BB CS and added Dimensionals on the back. The Real Red card with the brads also has Dimensionals on the back....the sentiment was also inked in Real Read....TFL

I have been making so many cards lately that I had to take a day off....

Also this Holiday yesterday kinda thru me for a loop...I wish my kids have to go to school all year - didn't they just have a long break!!! LOL!!!

Anyway today is my weigh in day...and I'm a 165 pounds....That means I have lost 6 pounds for good!!!

I guess I could have lost more if my DH didn't dragg me into "Maccaroni Grill" yesterday...we all were craving Italian, but I must say I still made good choices!!!

I have been a good girl again today and I can't wait to find out how much I weigh next week!!!

Have a good one

Beautiful

I had one more idea for Sharon's challenge #18 and
since it was raining all day yesterday I couldn't resist making another card....

I used my new Berry Bliss DSP and started cutting
a square with my Hobby Blade - it didn't have to be perfect since I was tearing and distressing it anyway!!!

Underneath I attached a Close Cocoa CS that I had punched out with the 1 1/4 " punch.I also cut around the the outside of that square to have an easier time to adhere it on the back of the DSP...that basicly made the second CS inside of the window.

The flower from "A Beautiful Thing" was embossed with White EBP. After I added some Stampin Dimensionals on the back I placed the flower on a Whisper White CS and finished it with a Pearl Rhinestone.

Then I adhered the whole thing to my base Cardstock "Close to Cocoa".

Of course I had to add the beautiful Satin Ribbon, the Jumbo Brads which also have the Pear Rhinestones on top.....

Friend

It's raining down here in the South...so it's the perfect time to make a card!!!

This card is also for Sharon's challenge # 18.
Since I have not torn my cards in a while....I thought I'll make another one.

I also dug out some of my embossing templates I have not used in a while.

For this card I used the EB Template called
"Pick a Petal" and I embossed the Wild Wasabi CS
first. I also opted for a Stamp Set that I have not used in a while and this one is called "That's Nice".

I used my Chocolate Chip Marker and my Wild Wasabi Embossing Pen ( that you soak your Refill Ink in it...) on the "Friend" stamp.
I layered it on a CC CS and also Groovy Guava and then CC again.

As you can tell I pierced the first CC CS and I made bigger holes - you can accomplish that by piercing it first with the template, then you take the template away and after that you poke it all the way through.

Hope that did not sound to complicated???

To finish if off I used the new striped Wild Wasabi and some matching green Rhinestone Brads from Making Memories.

Happy Heart Day

This is my card for Beate John's Weekend Sketch Challenge
# 31....

For this card I used Textured
Pretty in Pink, Taken with Teal and
Whisper White.

This is my first time using the new
Valentine Special Stamp Set "Happy Heart Day"...could not resist getting it!!!

When I colored the "mouse" image I also used Taken with Teal and Regal Rose Markers. To finish it off I used the Taken with Teal Rhinestones!!!

For a closer look click on the picture....TFL!!!

LOVE

This is my card I'm submitting for Sharon's challenge #18.....

This challenge is fun and great for starters too...so check out Sharon's aka notimetostamp blog and
participate!!!

For this card I used last years DSP "Loves Me"
and the "Love Matters" Stamp Set. The Ribbon "Flirty" is also from last years Winter Mini Catalog.....

The base card is Whisper White and I added a stripe of Taken with Teal CS on the edge. The "Love" image and the sentiment were stamped with Basic Black Ink and colored out with TT and RR Markers. Then I placed it on Taken with Teal and Regal Rose CS. The edges were sprinkled with pink Glitter.
On the back of each layer I place Stampin Dimensionals......TFL!!!

Congrats!!!

I have submitted this card for the SC159 challenge....
It is for a friend that is ready to have her baby boy very soon....

When Target had a Sale in their scrapbooking section I picked up a couple of 6x6 Print Packs from Making Memories for only $2.00......love a good bargain!!!

Anyway, I came a cross these cute little DSP last night and I knew they were perfect for a Baby card......

I used Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue and Whisper White. First I dry embossed the Chocolate Chip CS on top with the "Dots" template.

Then I stamped the "teddy bear" image from the "Bundle of Joy" set with Timber Brown Stazon twice - first on the main Whisper White CS and a second one on a spare WW and cut that out. The cut out version was watercolored with CC Ink and I placed Stampin Dimensionals on the back before I placed it on top of the other image.... The sentiment is from the "Absolutely
Fabulous" set.

Before I placed the WW CS on top of the BB CS I distressed both and also place some more SD on the back to raise the image. I finished the card off with some Ribbon around the teddy bears neck and below the bear plus I added some large aged copper brads on the side.

My Life

I was actually trying to make a card for the SC159
challenge and when I got further into the project I realized it's not gonna work....

So I finished my card and this is what I have done...

The base is Purley Pomegranate, the DSP is from the Hostess Set Prints Pack and I used Apricot Appeal, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White.

The Stamp Set is "A Beautiful Thing". I stamped the flower image with Versamark and embossed it with White EP. Then I cut the images out and placed some small green Rhinestones from Making Memorie in the center. I also adhered some Stampin Dimensionals on the back before I placed them on the Whisper White CS. At last I had to finish it with our gorgeous PP Satin Ribbon......

Perfect Princess

My daughter Rebecca is invited to a Birthday Party this afternoon and I had to come up with a card....I just can't think straight the last couple of days so I grabbed my Catalog and tried to figure out what I'm gonna
make....

Needless to say I could not make up my mind until I found this cute little card on Page 77...

I changed the colors because our little Birthday Girl is a very girly-girl type.... and I thought I have to include some kind of pinkish color.

I used the new "Kraft" Scallop Note and stamped the larger flower image with Versamark as a background. I added a stripe of So Saffron on the side....stamped the "Princess" sentiment on Regal Rose and cut out the crown - I also added some Stampin Dimensionals on the back.

Then I watercolored with Regal Rose ink around the center of the crown. I also added a
little "Bling" with the Gelly Roll Pen and the yellow "Rhinestone" Brad.

Sympathy Card

This is the card I made for my friend
Anneke....

I cased this idea from Bethany Paull.
Her orignial was breathtaking...it was
simple but so so elegant!!!

For my card I used a couple different things....- I used the Large Rectangle
Nesti and for the Stamp Set I used
"Both Way Bloosom" Hostess Set and "Close as a Memory".

I stamped the whole flower image once and then added only the flower part on top again ( if you have this set I think you know what I'm talking about) with Basic Black and watercolored the inside with Brilliant Blue and the stem with Old Olive.

Here is Bethany's blog and picture...

http://www.bethanypaull.blogspot.com/ and http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/735337

One of a Kind

I have not used my Watercolor Wonder Crayons in so long and I was looking for a project I could use them on...

For this card I used the new "Scalloped Notes" on Page 167. They come in three different colors
Soft Sky, Vanille and Kraft. I like them a lot..since they are so handy!!!

I placed a 1" width Groovy Guava CS on the Kraft Note and wrapped a Tempting Turquoise Ribbon around. On the bottom I place a strip of Tempting
Turquoise - this will support the card to stand on it's own plus I think it's a nice color touch.....

Then I used the new "One of a Kind" Set and cut out the largest image and also stamped the smallest image and set it aside. I colored both images with the Taken with Teal Crayon and the inside of the largest one with Apricot Appeal. The I punched holes around the inside flower and placed a 1" Purley Pomegranate Circle underneath. I also raised the image with Stampin Dimensionals before I centered it on the card.

I placed the smallest flower image on a Build-a-Brad and set it in the middle of the largest flower...
This is the first time I worked with the Build-A-Brad even though I have them for a couple of months now....how funny is that???

After I adhered the flower I stamped the "for you" sentiment.... TFL!!!
Time to weigh in.... I was on the edge of 166/167 - that means I almost lost 5 pounds.

I'm very proud of myself - even though it was very hard the last couple of days to eat anything..since we found out that our friend died. I lost my appetite and I really had to force myself to eat. Which is wrong - I know but I guess emotions take over......

Please keep my friend in your prayers today. She will have to bury the love of her life today and will need all the strenght and prayers to see through this difficult time!!!

Sad Day

Yesterday was a very sad day for my family and I - we found out that our dear friend Kevin died in a car crash this past Tuesday. The whole family was hospitalized and as you can imagen
their world has been turned upside down.....

Kevin will be buried tomorrow and if you read this please keep my friend and her family in your prayers as she will need all the strenght to move forward. May the Lord wrap his arms around them and see them through this difficult time.

Thank you for your support!!!

Welcome Baby

This is another card I'm submitting for Sharon's challenge # 17.

For this card I used a Wild Wasabi Long Note, the new Hostess Prints Pack DSP Apricot Appeal, Blue Bayou plus Whisper White.

For the Ink I used Craft Whisper White and
So Saffron plus Basic Black.

I also used the new "So Many Scallopps" Set from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration brochure. The "Welcome Baby" is from "Bundled in Love" Set.

The top part of the card was dry embossed with the "Dots" template. Before I finished the card with the scallopped circle I added the new Wild Wasabi "Striped Grosgrain" Ribbon.....

You make me happy

The clock is ticking for the new

On this card I stuck to Purley Pomegranate and White and I really like it!!!
The big flower was also rubbed on PP and I cut around it.....plus I added a white button in the center of the flower. To finish it - I added DS Purley Pomegranate Ribbon.

Sparkle Flower

TGIF!!! That means it's also time for Sharon's aka
notimetostamp new challenge....

Please visit her blog for more info and get inspired to participate.

Today I felt like glitter...I love glitter and you should see me right now... - I have it everywhere since my little Miriam thought she had to help - LOL!!!

For this card I used Purley Pomegranate, Whisper White CS. The Ink is Wild Wasabi and also Purley Pomegranate.

For the Glitter I used Silver and Martha Stewarts
Brillo Glitter "tourmaline" it matches the Purley Pomegranate beautifully!!! In the middle of the flower I added a clear Rhinestone Brad.

The stem and the leave is from the
"In the Spotlight" Hostess Set (Fall/Winter 2007) and the sentiment is from new catalog called
"A Little Birthday Cheer".

Have a good day and Thanks for stopping by.

Wonderful Friend

I was looking thru the new catalog and I really liked this card on page 145. So I cased it....

I changed the colors around and used So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, River Rock and Groovy Guava. I also exchanged the Ribbon to DS Wild Wasabi and the sentiment is different - but from the same set "Wonderful Favorites".

I should get my new order in today and hopefully can play around....

Talk to you soon...TFL!!!

Just pray for me that I'm not falling off this track - LOL!!!

Valentine Hearts

I looked thru my "Valentine" colletion and found the "Love Matters" set from last year....

I cut out some of the hearts, used daubers to ink them and then I attached them with Stampin Dimensionals. On the little yellow heart I added a clear gemstone from Hero Arts.

I bought the "happy valentine's day"
sentiment at Michaels today. I thought it was cute and for a $1 it will come in handy!!!

Have a good night and TFL!!!

Flower Birthday

Today I felt like using my Prima Flowers...

I have a lot of them but really have not used them in a long time....so today is the day.

Actually I have to give Faith Hofrichter aka "markiesmom"
credit for that...she wrote the other day or even today that she is hoarding her flowers and I had to laugh...since I have been doing the same thing!!!

I knew I wanted bright colors , so I took my mixed colors and played with them until I found what I wanted.....and here it is.

Solitude

This is the card I have made for Sharon's challenge # 16....

For more info about the challenge, it
can be found under Sharon's Blog (under my favorites)....

I like her challenges because they are always so fun...

The card is 3 1/4" x 6 1/2 " and I used Groovy Guava CS for the base.

I also used Blue Bayou and Whisper White....layered it and used Stampin Dimensionals on the back to lift the whole stamped image....

I added clear Rhinestone for a little bling and finished it of with the Blue Bayou DS Ribbon....

A Beautiful Thing

I finally got a chance to create a card with the "A Beautful Thing" Stamp Set....

After I have seen all the wonderful creations on SCS I was not quite sure what I wanted to do....

The funny part is I wanted to make a card for Mary Jo Albrights Challenge and I came up with something completely different....so I still have to think of something for the challenge...but I'm still pleased with this card!

The base of the card is Whisper White CS which I punched the corners with the Corner Punch as well as a strip of Wild Wasabi that was punched to create a scalloped edge. Then I layered the Prints DSP Rose Red on top and covered that with a Whisper White 1/4 "Grosgrain Ribbon.

I also placed some medium Silver Brads from Making Memories on the bottom right side and in the middle of the flower image.
The solid flower image of that set was stamped on a Wild Wasabi CS with Wild Wasabi Ink and than cut out. The other flower image was stamped on Whisper White with a Purley Pomegranate Ink and cut out too. Then layered with Stampin Dimensionals in between the flowers and on the back of the Wild Wasabi flower to raise the image even better.

Before I placed the flower part on the other Whisper White CS I stamped the sentiment on first and then centered the flower. After that I also raised that layered CS with Stampin Dimensionals.....

Sending Love

When I saw the "Sealed with a Kiss" Set in the last Fall/Winter Catalog I had to buy it....and so far it came in really handy!!!

I used the DSP "Loves Me" again and created this cute little Pocketbook Box from a Template I have bought at Target. It's really simple - you just trace it - then you cut, score and assemble it....

If you have a "Tag Maker" Tool you will like what I have done with the stamped image.... I took a rectangle rim and traced around the stamped image with the matching template that comes with the rim box.
Place it in the tool, press it and out comes your own beautiful created tag!!!

I also placed a slit on each side of the box to pull the
Chocolate Chip 5/8" Ribbon thru and I also added three Silver Brads on the right bottom side.

For the colors on the stamped image I used Regal Rose, Taken with Teal and Basic Black.
I also placed some Stampin Dimensionals on the back of the tag to create a 3-D look.....

Love You

I just had to add a better picture...the lighting was
off this morning and the colors of the card did not come out as I hoped so I tried again this afternoon!!!

I still have some of the "Square"
Metal Tags from SU and when I pulled out my "Sealed with a Kiss"
Stamp Set I knew I wanted to add them to my card....

The DSP is from last year "Loves Me". The base of the card is Taken with Teal. I also used Regal Rose and Whisper White. The Ribbon is from last year's "Flirty" collection.

The CS in the middle of the Metal Square was lifted with Stampin Dimensionals and also I used them on the back of the Tag before I placed it on the card.....

The little "Heart" in the middle of the "O" is a bigger Heart from the same Set that I stamped on a separate piece of CS and colored it with the Regal Rose Marker and then added some "Pink" Glitter....

To see the card better....just click on it!!! TFL

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hello everybody,

I wish you all a great, successful and healthy 2008!!!

For me, I hope it will be a good one too...since this is the Year of "Truth" for me. My New Year's Resolution is to lose 30 pounds!!! Yes, I know that's quite a bit, but I'm tired of making excuses for myself...plus I'm turning 40 in October and I just don't want to look like this anymore....!!!

Here is what's also going to happen - with every 10 pounds I'm losing I will give away "BLOG CANDY" !!!

I'll report once a week "How much I have lost"!!! We'll start today - I hate to say it but my starting weight is 171 pound.

I'm not going to do a specific diet, I'm trying to eat healthier and of course try to incorporate as much of a workout as I can. Also I really need to drink more water and lay off the soda!!!

My husband bought me an i-Pod for x-mas so I can use that for my walking sessions....
I'll be also using my elliptical that collected dust over the last couple of months.

You are probably wondering why in heavens name I'm doing this on my blog??? Well - I don't really know but I thought this will maybe help me to stay focused since I have to report to somebody...
I have done Weight Watchers before...and I just hated to go to all those meetings....but I also learned some good information that I'll take to heart.

Anyway, if anybody who reads this would like to be my "Buddy" in losing weight feel free to e-mail me at silkeledlow@yahoo.com and I promise I'll keep it my secret!!! Hopefully I can inspire someone???

Well, wish me good luck and I'll weigh in with you next Tuesday!!!
